West Haven Kid's Club

Curriculum

Kid's Club curriculum and philosophy is based on individual needs of each child. It also identifies goals in all areas of development. Through assessment teachers obtain useful information about children's knowledge, skills and progress by observing, documenting, analyzing and reviewing children over time. At each step of the way they are systematic to ensure that they are meeting the needs of every child. The curriculum emphasizes that building relationships between teachers, children and their families form the basis of a strong foundation for learning. The center uses the Creative Curriculum in the toddler room. The curriculum serves as a framework for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate program that is based upon individual needs, strengths and interests of each child, with an understanding and appreciation of the social and cultural context in which each child lives.
